Why now is the critical window
Peak season is when warehouses run hardest — higher stock volumes, more forklift movements, more pressure on every bay and upright. Damaged racking doesn't just create a safety risk. It creates unavailable pallet locations at exactly the time you need maximum capacity.
On a recent Midlands inspection, we identified a significant number of Red Risk and Amber Risk defects in a single facility. The client had no idea. Their racking had been in use for years without a formal assessment.

Red Risk
High levels of damage requiring the affected area to be immediately offloaded and isolated from use until repairs are completed.
Amber Risk
Damage requiring remedial work within 4 weeks. Immediate offloading is not required, but once affected pallet locations are emptied they must not be refilled until repairs are completed. If not repaired within 4 weeks, the item becomes Red Risk.
Green Risk
Damage falls within SEMA limits. Record it and review it at the next inspection — Green does not mean the damage should be ignored.
